Before closing my first wholesale deal, I spent five years running a food truck and catering company in Dallas, Texas (SkewU). I built it from scratch with three friends and zero culinary experience. We bootstrapped everything, stayed booked, and kept things running. From the outside, it looked successful.
But the numbers told a different story. I was working 12-hour days, living with my parents, and earning below a livable income. The business wasn’t building anything long term. It was just keeping us afloat.
Turning Point:
Eventually, we made the hard decision to sell the food truck, not to level up, but to pay off debt. I was left with no business and no clear plan.
Then my wife showed me a podcast clip about real estate wholesaling. I started researching, went deep into YouTube, and made a decision to go all in. Not because the timing was perfect, but because staying where I was wasn’t an option.
At that point, my only goal was simple. Make more than $50,000 a year.
Proof of Concept:
Sixty days in, I closed my first wholesale deal for $3,000.
It wasn’t life changing, but it proved everything. The process worked. I could do it. I didn’t need a license, perfect credit, or capital. That one deal was enough to commit fully.
By the end of 2020, my first full year during the pandemic, I had generated $148,000 in wholesale revenue. No mentor. No roadmap. Just action and consistency.
What I Built Next:
Since then, I’ve closed over 300 wholesale deals and generated more than $3.5 million. Since launching my mentorship in 2024, my students have generated over $500,000 collectively.
